Annette Pritchert – (PB: Lucy Lawless)

Personality – Annette is a very strong-willed woman, one with an almost pathological need to be in control. She’s got a lot of energy and ambition and is almost constantly on the move. She’s very blunt and direct, and while she understands and can appreciate manipulation techniques she often prefers to skip all that ‘bull shit’ and just get right to the point. This is a woman who prefers a large mallet over a scalpel, no matter the situation. The only time she likes games is when they are strictly that – just games.
History – Annette was born to a white-collar magical family, and for one of her occupation enjoyed a remarkably average upbringing. She was in her fourth year of Hogwarts when Voldemort took power and was shocked to see her mixed-blood classmates and teachers disappear, but it didn’t fundamentally affect her daily life. She preferred to focus on her studies and became a Prefect, graduating near the top of her class. She had dreams of working for the Ministry and reaching high levels of power, but her blunt tactics proved to be her biggest obstacle. After shuffling between several different departments, she found herself working at a breeding camp where her direct personality was actually a boon in dealing with the attitudes of the other guards, and she’s been slowly climbing the ladder there ever since.


Robert Epps – (PB: Dylan Moran)
Occupation – Assistant Camp Supervisor
Age – 47
Personality – Robert is a moody, quiet man who likes order. Unlike most of the other people working at the camps, he does not ‘partake’ in the prisoners and actually frowns on the practice. Most people would describe him as have a proverbial pine cone up his ass, and several people have offered to help remove it. He prefers his ledgers and forms to actual people and is one of the few camp administrators even some of the prisoners respect, because they know he will view them as prisoners instead of sex toys. He’s honest as anyone can be in such situations and will stand up for the very few ‘rights’ that the prisoners have.
History – Robert was a pureblood wizard who lived an average and mostly happy life before Voldemort took power, married to a half-blood witch and expecting their first child. When power did change, his wife, Amanda, was among the most vocal to speak out against the new regime. Robert was given the option of divorcing her or sharing in her blood status, and he chose to stay with her. However, it was only a month later that he found his wife was more upset than he’d realized – she went and joined a group that was violently opposed to the new Ministry and used her alchemy skills to create bombs. When she was killed on a ‘mission’ Robert was devastated, but mostly at her betrayal. He used the confusion of the still-new Ministry to his advantage and got his blood status changed back and took a job as an Auror. After 8 years of that he injured a shoulder in a fight and was forced to retire from that job, taking a position instead at the breeding camps where his quiet diligence saw him quickly through the ranks.


Howard Candle – (PB: Boyd Holbrook)
Occupation –Guard
Age – 24
Personality – Howard tends to take a very irreverent, devil-may-care approach to life and just about everything in it. He’s a rebel without a cause, and rather than romanticizing that image he’s everything that’s truly bad about a Bad Boy. He generally enjoys being a bad boy, though, and doesn’t give much of a flying whit about anything so long as it amuses him. He’s indulged in every vice he could find and sees no reason to stop. He’ll quite often step in and use, abuse, and torment the people under his charge.
History – Howard was born to a pureblood family that had, more or less, nothing but their blood to stand on. Though the family was an old line, they were broke beyond broke. Howard was jealous of his half-blood and muggleborn neighbors who had more than he did, confused by the contrast between that fact and his parents telling him he was better because of his blood. The whole family expected things to improve when Voldemort took over, but their station did not raise – others just fell. His father fell to depression and alcoholism when he found out the only jobs he was qualified for, menial labor, were all being given to half-bloods who didn’t have to be paid as much. Howard escaped to Hogwarts, but not before sustaining considerable domestic abuse. He was, at best, an average student and bounced around the country doing odd-jobs before landing a position as a guard at one of the breeding camps.


Russell Davis – (PB: Richard Armitage)
Occupation – Guard
Age – 36
Personality – Russell has a chip on his shoulder the size of Russia. He doesn’t like anything or anyone, and he doesn’t care who knows it. He’s mean, he’s got a long memory, and he doesn’t mind using a fair bit of manipulation to get his way. What he doesn’t get through power plays, he gets through sheer intimidation. Most people don’t realize that his bark is worse than his bite, but it’s mostly because his bite is still plenty bad. He doesn’t like to be forced to violence and does so as little as possible, relying on scare tactics to get people to leave him alone.
History – Russell was the youngest of four sons born to two middle class magical parents and was pretty much happy with that. He had just graduated from Hogwarts when Voldemort came to power and was considering proposing to his muggleborn school sweetheart when she was taken away that summer by aurors. Neither Russell nor his girlfriend had realized how bad things were about to get for her so they didn’t hide her while they still had the chance. He never quite got over her loss and while petitioned cautiously by several resistance groups he declined to join any of them. He had trouble holding down a steady job and eventually took to smuggling to make money, something he was eventually caught at. He spent a number of years in jail (not Azkaban) before being released at the end of his sentence. He managed to get a job at the camps through a prison guard he’d made friends with, though he still finds occasion to smuggle on the side for extra money.


Emily Warbet – (PB: Monika Kubacka)

Personality – Emily is a tough-as-nails survivor who is more than a little on the messed up side. She’s determined to make the best of the situation and has spent so long inside the breeding camps that it’s basically her entire world. She doesn’t think about anything outside the camp, doesn’t even consider escape, will not entertain the thought of anything except how to reach the highest position she can inside her prison. To hope for anything else would drive her mad, so her subconscious won’t let her do it. Instead she uses everything she can, including and especially her sexuality, to gain favors from the guards and the other prisoners. Sex, drugs, and food are her main weapons. She’s reached a position within the prisoners’ unofficial structure that is closer to dictator than anything benevolent, though most of the prisoners and even guards recognize her unorthodox brand of ‘power.’
History – Emily was only 9 when the change of power took place, and for the most part she didn’t understand anything that had happened. She was from a well off, though by no means rich, pure blood family and except for seeing her parents anxiety didn’t really know that anything in the world had changed. She was a bit of a sheltered child. She learned soon enough when she went to Hogwarts two years later when some of the older students tried to make sure than the new first years had the real story instead of the ‘Ministry propaganda’ version of history. Emily was more taken than her classmates with the older students’ stories of ‘how things used to be,’ blaming every ill on the Ministry whether it was truly their fault or not and envisioning the previous Ministry as some sort of utopia. She believed so much in that view that she tried to organize a resistance within the school and was met with only marginal success. When she was 16 her group was caught trying to sneak potions supplies from the school’s stores to outsiders in Hogsmade and Emily was deemed old enough to be tried as an adult and sent to a camp. She was violently resistant for the first several years, but the camp practices systematically broke her down until she stopped resisting or trying to escape and instead just tried to survive. She’s had 5 children out of 9 pregnancies, the first live birth when she was 17, a record which is actually better than average in the camps.


Penelope ‘Penny’ Richards – (PB: Quinn Cooper)

Age – 21
Personality – Penny is a scared and skittish girl, relatively new to the camps and frightened of everyone and everything in it, including her fellow prisoners. Especially her fellow prisoners. She has a habit when she’s afraid (so, constantly) of saying whatever she thinks the other person wants to hear or, failing that, whatever comes to mind. However, this practice gets her in trouble more often than it doesn’t because she panics and inevitably says the wrong thing.
History – Penny was a perfectly happy muggle child, completely unaware of her magical abilities. She made it almost all the way through school before her magic broke away from her in a real big way and fortunately it was an anti-Ministry group that got to her first. She was devastated when she ended up losing her family, her friends, and her whole way of life and instead found herself desperately trying to learn to control her magic and find a way out of the country. But after a few years she was ready to go. Unfortunately she was caught trying to cross the border and ended up being placed in the camp the day before her 20th birthday.


Richard Brown – (PB: Aaron Stanford)

Age – 17
Personality – Rick is a surly young man who has responded to his situation by closing in on himself, unsurprisingly. He keeps his thoughts to himself and has a habit of watching people like he’s trying to figure out how best to dissect them. No matter how many guards or other prisoners get in his face for giving them ‘the eye’ he doesn’t often raise to the bait for a fight. He’ll back down while still keeping the same defiant attitude. Rick has ambitions of getting out of the camps and is constantly scheming how to break out. He only voluntarily talks to people he thinks will further said goals, and he’ll do anything he can orchestrate a break out. He’ll talk involuntarily to other people only when he has to.
History – Rick’s earliest memories are of being in a muggle orphanage, where he stayed with his younger brother until he was about 7 years old and they were both adopted by the browns. He doesn’t know who is parents are or that they were both half-bloods who, upon realizing what kind of world Voldemort was creating, tried to escape. They couldn’t with two small children and thought the best option was to leave them with the muggles. Rick loved his adoptive parents but always wanted to know why his birth parents abandoned him and never found those answers. When he was 16 his magic got away from him and he ended up accidently setting fire to the school cafeteria. The Ministry Aurors were first on the scene and took him into custody, placing him in a camp. His greatest fear is that his younger brother will prove to be a wizard as well and be caught in the same manner.
